Richard J. Courtheoux is founder and President of Marketing Analysis Applications.

Rick is a highly-regarded expert on Database Marketing, has written many articles on the subject and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Since 1984 he has presented the Direct Marketing Association's seminar on Database Marketing. He is on the Editorial Boards of both the Journal of Interactive Marketing and the Journal of Targeting, Measurement and Analysis for Marketing.

Rick entered the direct / database marketing industry as a management consultant in 1978. His consulting work has focused on helping companies understand how to develop, analyze and apply customer information. He has worked extensively in:

  • Database Marketing strategy and economics
  • Marketing database design
  • Customer segmentation and targeting
  • Customer lifetime value estimation
  • Product affinity analysis
  • Seasonal marketing optimization

Rick was the founder and President of Precision Marketing Corporation, a management consulting firm which merged with Direct Marketing Technology. Following Direct Tech's acquisition by Experian he was Senior Vice-President of Database and Consulting. During his many years of consulting he has worked with such clients as Microsoft, Royal Bank of Canada, AIG, Eli Lilly, Hartford Insurance Group, Sears, Talbots, J. Crew and the American Medical Association.

Rick has a B. S. from Yale, an M. B. A. from the University of Chicago and an M. S. in Computer Science from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
